What Is The MIHP?

MIHP is a Home Visiting program for pregnant women and infants with Medicaid insurance. MIHP provides support service to women and to parents so they have healthy pregnancies, good birth outcomes and healthy infants.

What Will I Get If I Join MIHP?

FREE access to transportation to medical appointments, WIC, and childbirth or parent education classes, as needed.

Experienced Health Professional Who Will:

  • Help you get parental care.
  • Answer questions about being pregnant. 
  • Answer questions about caring for your infant.
  • Help you get food and a place to live.
  • Help you learn about fixing and eating healthy foods.
  • Answering questions about family planning (Birth Control).
  • Help with health problems that could affect your pregnancy such as diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, depression and anxiety.
  • Help if your concerned about abuse/violence in your life.
  • Help with changes that you decide to make to be healthy, such as quitting or cutting down on smoking, alcohol or drugs.
  • Help with health problems that could affect your pregnancy such as diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, depression and anxiety.
  • Connect you with community services, such as childbirth education classes or baby pantries that give out baby items for free.
  • Be there for you if problems come up.
